Project Estimator

A fast-growing, stable commercial flooring contractor is seeking a Project Estimator to join the team. This is a combined project management and estimating role – not just an estimator – supporting commercial flooring projects including tile, stone, carpet, and mill work. The Project Estimator is responsible for estimating, full cycle submittals, project coordination, and procurement, overseeing projects from start to finish.

Salary + Additional Benefits:

• $100,000–$130,000

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

• Estimate in office; once you manage the job, visit the site.
• Handle full cycle submittals, project coordination, and procurement – not just an estimator.
• Oversee commercial flooring projects from start to finish, including tile, stone, carpet, and mill work.
• Run multiple jobs at once – some are 10, 15, 20 a month.
• Handle $4-6 million a year of work.
• Travel 20-25% to customers – day trips.

Requirements:

• At least 5 yrs experience as a PM/Estimator
• 3-5 years of commercial flooring, full cycle submittals, project coordination, not just an estimator
• Tile, stone, carpet, mill work
• NOT General contractor
• Must have knowledge of overseeing construction projects from start to finish
• Familiar with Excel, Procore, OST or Bluebeam, submittal process and procurement
• Onscreen takeoff
• BS in Construction Science (preferred)
• 30-hour OSHA certification (preferred)
