Salary: 65,000 (negotiable)

What You'll Do

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and labor.
• Estimate labor, equipment, and material costs.
• Research historical project costs, purchase orders, and productivity data.
• Identify project risks that may impact overall project costs.
• Maintain project tracking using Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project management teams.
• Provide timely estimating updates throughout the bidding process.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and documentation.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
• 6 months to 2 years of general estimating experience.
• Experience estimating steel, sheet metal, structural steel, metal fabrication, or architectural metal projects is a HUGE PLUS.
• Experience preparing full lifecycle cost estimates, including:
• Material costs
• Labor costs
• Equipment costs
• Time estimates
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Smartsheet or the ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to read construction drawings and project specifications.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred

• Experience creating basic Excel formulas (SUM, IF, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.).
• Experience working in commercial construction or fabrication environments.
• Familiarity with construction estimating best practices.
