Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Project Executive to oversee multiple large-scale projects and provide executive-level leadership across project delivery, financial performance, client relationships, and operational execution. This role is responsible for ensuring successful project outcomes across portfolios in commercial construction, healthcare facilities, data centers, and industrial developments.

The Project Executive functions as a senior leader bridging field execution, project management teams, and company leadership to ensure strategic alignment, profitability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio & Project Oversight
  • Oversee multiple concurrent large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
  • Provide executive direction to Project Managers and Senior Project Managers
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Review and approve project plans, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies
  • Monitor overall project health across cost, schedule, safety, and risk

Financial Performance & Profitability

  • Own financial outcomes across assigned project portfolio
  • Review cost reports, forecasts, margins, and change order impacts
  • Approve major expenditures, subcontractor agreements, and budget adjustments
  • Drive profitability through cost control, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation
  • Partner with finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and revenue tracking

Client & Stakeholder Executive Management

  • Serve as senior point of contact for key clients and stakeholders
  • Lead executive-level client meetings, presentations, and progress reviews
  • Manage high-level negotiations, contract discussions, and dispute resolution
  • Ensure client satisfaction and long-term relationship development
  • Align project outcomes with client business goals and expectations

Strategic Planning & Risk Management

  • Develop and enforce project execution strategies and delivery frameworks
  • Identify systemic risks across projects and implement mitigation plans
  • Resolve escalated issues impacting scope, schedule, cost, or quality
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and contractual obligations
  • Drive consistency in project delivery methodologies across teams

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership teams
  • Oversee staffing, performance management, and organizational structure for projects
  • Promote leadership development and succession planning within project teams
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and high-performance culture

Reporting & Executive Communication

  • Provide executive-level reporting to senior leadership (VP, COO, CEO)
  • Deliver portfolio dashboards covering cost, schedule, risk, and performance metrics
  • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities at a strategic level
  • Ensure transparency in project execution and financial performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in construction or infrastructure
  • 3–5+ years in senior leadership or multi-project oversight role
  • Strong experience in commercial, healthcare, industrial, or data center projects
  • Deep understanding of project lifecycle management and construction execution
  • Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, cost control, margins)
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and executive communication skills
  • Ability to manage large teams and complex, multi-site projects

Preferred (Nice-to-Have):

  • PMP, LEED, or other industry certifications
  • Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, hospitals, energy facilities)
  • Experience managing $50M–$500M+ project portfolios
  • Background in design-build, general contracting, or construction management firms
  • Experience with enterprise project management systems (Procore, Primavera P6, BIM tools)
  • Strong client-facing executive leadership experience

Reporting To:

  • Vice President of Construction / VP of Operations / Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Executive Leadership Team

Employment Type & Work Setup:

  • Full-time
  • Onsite / Hybrid (project and portfolio dependent)
  • Frequent travel to job sites and client locations required
