DESCRIPTION:
The Project Executive is the engine behind some of Houston’s most complex electrical construction projects. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of 1–2 large-scale projects ranging from $20M to $80M, leading a team of Project Managers while serving as the primary strategic link between field execution, preconstruction, and client relationships. You’ll bring deep technical authority, sharp commercial instincts, and the judgment to keep high-stakes projects on time, on budget, and ahead of the next challenge.
The Project Executive reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the following:
Lead multiple (1-2) concurrent electrical projects with total contract values of $20M–$80M, maintaining full accountability for safety, quality, cost, and schedule outcomes
Provide direct leadership and mentorship to a team of Project Managers, driving consistency in project execution and professional development across your team
Establish and maintain client and industry relationships that generate new project opportunities and strengthen company's market presence in Houston and beyond
Partner with the Preconstruction Department during the pre-bid and pre-construction phases, including budget reviews, scope analysis, and constructability assessments
Lead the development and management of GMP and Lump Sum contracts, applying a thorough understanding of company's cost model, labor projections, and risk exposure
Interface with owners, architects, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve constructability and value engineering issues throughout negotiation and contract execution
Conduct WIP reviews and weekly/monthly job cost analyses with Operations Managers, reporting on project progress, financial performance, wins, and losses
Oversee master project scheduling in coordination with internal Scheduling team, developing look-ahead schedules and identifying critical milestones and risk areas
Champion company's quality control and safety programs, ensuring all project work meets specification, design, and regulatory standards at every phase
Review and ensure compliance with owner contracts in alignment with the organization's established standards and project management framework
7+ years of progressive management experience with an electrical subcontractor, including direct oversight of project teams
Demonstrated experience managing electrical projects of $20M or greater from pre-construction through closeout
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead across field, office, and owner environments
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a closely related field
Familiarity with construction management platforms such as Procore, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling and QA/QC tools
OSHA 30 certification or active electrical license
Pay Range: $175 - 195k w/ bonus potential
