The Project / Field Engineer will oversee on-site operations and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. They will direct, coordinate, and functionally plan, organize, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within areas of assigned responsibilities.

Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate and reinforce the Company vison, values, and goals
- Promotes and participates in the Company safety program and procedures
- Assist both the Project Manager & Superintendent as required to efficiently complete assigned projects
- Training/Mentoring of junior staff
- Maintain overall good relationships with clients and/or public officials
- Daily operation of field office
- Maintain project documentation
- Assists in procurement of material and subcontractors; includes performing take-offs, completion of in-house requisition forms, preparation of bid packages and defining scopes of work
- Generates and updates purchase order and subcontractor logs
- Review and prepare submittals, maintain a submittal log and monitors to ensure each submittal receives timely review
- Attends project meetings as directed by the Project Manager. Prepares and distributes associated meeting minutes
- Ensures all completed work complies with acceptable codes, drawings, and specifications
- Conducts constructability reviews and value engineering functions
- Prepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, purchasing, etc.
- Interprets designs and drawings, research and recommends solutions to drawing interpretation, problems, conflicts, and errors
- Issue Requests for Information (RFI's) to appropriate parties; maintains the RFI log and monitors it for timely responses
- Assembles costs estimates to be reviewed with Project Manager for any client requested damages
- Tracks and summarizes force account work for Project Manager review
- Log and maintain as-built pay quantities for invoicing; verifies accurate payment of subcontractors and material suppliers
- Generates and maintains production analysis for jobs
- Monitors receivables and prepares invoice documents for approval by the Project Manager
- Utilizes in-house software to continually monitor project cost variances
- Completes appropriate paperwork for new field hires
- Utilizes the applicable state utility locate system to call in mark out requests
- Assists Superintendents with daily job reports and schedule monitoring
- Prepares red-line or as-built drawings

Profile
A successful Project / Field Engineer should have:
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management)
- Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment
- Overall knowledge of MS Offic
