We're looking for an experienced finance professional who understands how projects operate in the real world. This role combines financial analysis, project management, customer communication, and operational support within a construction, industrial, manufacturing, or oil & gas environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong accounting or finance background, hands-on P&L experience, and the confidence to work directly with customers and project teams. This is a primarily office-based role with customer meetings and occasional site visits.
Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 (based on experience)
Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision plans
Retirement: 401(k)
Time Off: Paid time off and paid holidays
Additional Coverage: Life and disability programs
Employment Type: Direct hire, long-term opportunity
Manage financial reporting and project cost analysis for active projects.
Monitor project budgets, costs, revenue, margins, and overall financial performance.
Prepare and analyze P&Ls, forecasts, budgets, and financial reports.
Build reports and financial models using Excel and internal financial/ERP systems.
Work closely with project managers and operations leadership to identify financial issues and opportunities.
Communicate directly with customers regarding project financial information, status, and business needs.
Participate in customer meetings and visit customer or project sites as needed.
Investigate cost variances and recommend ways to improve project profitability.
Support project planning, forecasting, and financial decision-making from project start through completion.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration with an Accounting focus, or a closely related field.
4–5+ years of professional experience in finance, accounting, project finance, project controls, or a similar role.
Previous hands-on P&L experience is required.
Professional experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, or another heavy project-based environment is required.
Strong understanding of project financials, job costing, budgets, forecasting, and profitability.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including building financial reports from scratch.
Experience working with ERP, accounting, or financial reporting systems.
Proven ability to communicate directly with customers and internal operational teams.
Experience supporting large or complex projects.
Experience working directly with project managers, field personnel, or operations leadership.
Construction, industrial, manufacturing, or oil & gas project finance experience.
Experience presenting financial information to customers, leadership, or project stakeholders.
Experience identifying opportunities to improve project margins and financial performance.
Business-minded: Understands what the numbers mean, not just how to calculate them.
Confident communicator: Comfortable talking with customers, project managers, and operations teams.
Detail-oriented: Catches discrepancies before they become expensive problems.
Hands-on: Comfortable moving between financial analysis, project discussions, and customer-facing responsibilities.
Accountable: Takes ownership and follows issues through to resolution.
Adaptable: Can operate effectively in a fast-moving construction or industrial environment.
This is a project-driven, operational environment—not a traditional corporate finance role. The position is primarily office-based but includes customer meetings, project discussions, and occasional visits to customer or job sites. Candidates should be comfortable working with both financial professionals and hands-on project and operations teams.
High-visibility role with direct impact on project and business performance
Regular interaction with customers, project managers, and operational leadership
Opportunity to combine finance expertise with real-world project management
Long-term career opportunity with room for professional growth
