We are looking to add new talent to our growing team.

We are currently seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Boston, MA office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, you will split time and responsibilities between field assignments and office assignments. You will lead portions of technical project work from project scoping through final deliverables under the direction of senior staff. You will apply academic and industry knowledge as well as learnings from prior work experience to execute project work. You will provide training guidance and informal mentoring to junior staff on their projects and within your technical discipline. You will under the direction of the senior staff participate in communications with client agencies and internal teams within your discipline. You will perform or oversee geotechnical engineering technical evaluations, data summarization, and design. You will conduct basic construction observation including quality control and field testing tasks. You will prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation. You will perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols. You will demonstrate the companys foundational safety behaviors.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Skills and Requirements

  • Masters degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet project requirements.
  • Able to work independently on individual tasks supporting technical work and exhibit the ability to manage tasks and perform work on multiple projects or multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Desire to learn and grow in your profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or relevant geotechnical analysis software.
  • Preferred Skills: • Professional certification or planning to obtain professional certification as applicable to the discipline. • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates. • Specialized software applications relevant to geotechnical engineering.

SALARY

The salary for this position in Boston, MA is $80,000 - $93,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
