What You Will Do

The Program Project Interface (PPI) Division is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join our multi-disciplinary team as a Manager of Projects within Line-Item Program Representation (PPI-2) group. PPI Division helps to ensure the successful execution of capital line item and programmatic equipment projects. We act as a bridge between the Associate Level Director for Weapons Production (ALDWP) and Associate Level Director for Plutonium Infrastructure (ALDPI), supporting the delivery of next-generation facilities, infrastructure, and equipment that support mission-critical objectives. PPI is committed to operational excellence by representing the interests of program owners, aligning with program objectives, and collaborating with project execution stakeholders. Through active participation in Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and throughout all project phases, PPI ensures that program requirements are met and supports LANL's mission delivery with integrity, accountability, and strategic partnership.

As the First Line Manager, you will serve as a key member of the PPI-2 management team supporting large, highly visible, multi-billion-dollar projects that advance LANL's plutonium strategy and production mission. Working closely with PPI-2 group management, you will lead the Program Owner Representative (POR) work scope, managing cost, schedule, and integration across multiple capital line-item projects. You'll engage with Senior Laboratory leadership and federal customers to align project execution with strategic priorities for ALDWP programs.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead Program Owner Representative (POR) scope for major capital line-item and programmatic equipment projects supporting LANL's plutonium mission.
  • Manage cost, schedule, risk, integration, and stakeholder alignment across complex, high-visibility project portfolios.
  • Provide first-line management for PPI-2 personnel, including work planning, assignments, coaching, performance management, career development, and team recognition.
  • Represent program owner priorities in Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and ensure project execution supports operational readiness, mission delivery, and end-user requirements.
  • Partner with LANL directorates including ALDPI, and ALDWP, project execution organizations, facility operations, engineering, procurement, construction, and DOE/NNSA stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Review and support project plans, estimates, schedules, forecasts, change-control actions, and key project deliverables.
  • Promote a strong safety, security, quality, compliance, and continuous-improvement culture across assigned work.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior internal and external customers while communicating technical, operational, and project information clearly to diverse audiences.
