What You'll Do
\n
\n
Bright Sky Environmental is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Air Permitting Manager for immediate, full-time employment. This role is ideal for a senior air quality permitting and compliance professional who enjoys technical work, client interaction, project leadership, and business development.
\n
\n
Your responsibilities will include:
\n
\n
- \n
- Lead and support air quality permitting and compliance projects, including technical strategy, regulatory applicability analyses, emissions calculations, and permit application preparation.
- \n
- Lead and develop project team members.
- \n
- Provide technical review and QA/QC for air permitting and compliance deliverables.
- \n
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and client communication for active consulting projects.
- \n
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients in oil and gas, power generation, data center power, and other industrial sectors.
- \n
- Mentor and develop junior staff through technical guidance, review, and project leadership.
- \n
- Support business development with a seller-doer mindset, including building client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and helping grow Bright Sky Environmental's air practice.
- \n
- Help shape the future of the company with an immediate leadership role and a path to grow into a director-level position.

What We're Looking For
\n
\n
Minimum Requirements:
\n
\n
- \n
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, environmental science, or a closely related discipline from an accredited university plus at least 7 years of relevant air quality permitting and compliance experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education. Candidates must have direct air permitting experience in addition to project management experience to be considered.

- Strong working knowledge of air permitting and compliance programs, preferably in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and/or California.
- \n
- Experience managing consulting projects, including budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client communication.
- \n
- Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping grow a specialized consulting practice and other team members.
- \n

\n
Preferred Qualifications:
\n
\n
- \n
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; annual bonus available for a P.E. willing to sponsor the company as a P.E. firm.
- \n
- 8–10+ years of air quality permitting and compliance experience, and 5+ years as a Project Manager
- \n
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations implementing the Clean Air Act.
- \n
- Experience with NSR, PSD, nonattainment NSR, Title V, PBRs, standard permits, emissions inventories, BACT analyses, MACT/NESHAP/NSPS applicability, or related air programs.
- \n
- Dispersion modeling, environmental due diligence, ASTM Phase I’s, LDAR/OGI
- \n
- Prior environmental consulting experience with the ability and interest to sell projects and lead and develop teams.
- \n
- Existing client relationships in oil and gas, power generation, data centers, industrial facilities, or other relevant sectors.
