Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Remote (Northeast Region)
Travel: Occasional travel within New York State (approximately 2–3 times per year)
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
Pay: $45 - $58/hr

Overview

Our Client is seeking a Project Manager to support the development and implementation of a Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) Roadmap initiative. This role will support strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, research coordination, and project execution activities that advance energy decarbonization efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project management and administrative support for a Thermal Energy Networks Roadmap initiative, including work planning, progress tracking, meeting coordination, note-taking, and schedule management.
  • Support implementation of strategic initiatives and workstreams related to energy decarbonization and thermal energy network deployment.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement efforts among internal teams, government agencies, industry partners, advocates, and other external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development of stakeholder engagement strategies and support stakeholder meetings, workshops, and related events.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support roadmap development and implementation activities.
  • Review, edit, and proofread reports, research deliverables, presentations, and stakeholder-facing materials.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, timelines, and status reports.
  • Support public-facing communications and stakeholder outreach efforts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of strategic planning and program objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Energy, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of professional experience in project management, program management, energy planning, sustainability, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong meeting facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience in energy systems, building decarbonization, clean energy programs, or sustainability initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Thermal Energy Networks (district heating and cooling systems) and related topics such as:
    • Community energy frameworks
    • Building decarbonization policies and regulations
    • Geothermal systems
    • Waste heat recovery
    • Local energy planning

Technical Skills

Experience with:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Asana
  • Webex (preferred)
  • Salesforce (preferred)
