As a Project Manager, you will be leading the mechanical scope on a large-scale mission critical data center located in rural Texas. You will lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for executing the project safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong partnerships with owners, trade partners, and field leadership.

What you’ll be doing:
As a Project Manager, you will provide overall leadership for one or more mechanical scopes on a large-scale data center project. You will be responsible for planning, execution, financial performance, client relationships, and successful project delivery from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover. This position is a mid-level to senior role that is fundamental in supporting each market sector that Harder works in.

Project Managers at Harder perform the following daily tasks:

  • Lead all aspects of assigned mechanical construction scopes from planning through project closeout
  • Develop and execute project strategies that prioritize safety, quality, schedule, productivity, and client satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, general contractors, design teams, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, change management, and cost reporting to ensure financial success
  • Oversee procurement of major mechanical equipment, fabricated systems, materials, and subcontracted work while mitigating supply chain risks
  • Lead project scheduling efforts in collaboration with field leadership to support project milestones
  • Partner with field leadership and the project team to develop work plans, staffing strategies, and execution plans for complex mechanical installations
  • Review project risks, identify potential issues early, and implement proactive solutions to minimize impacts to schedule and budget
  • Ensure RFIs, submittals, change orders, turnover documentation, commissioning activities, and closeout requirements are completed accurately and on time
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for project engineers
  • Promote Harder's culture of safety and operational excellence throughout every phase of the project
  • Represent Harder during owner meetings, coordination meetings, progress reviews, and executive-level project discussions
What you will need to be successful in this role:
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and process piping
  • Proven ability to manage large, fast-paced construction projects
  • Strong financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, productivity tracking, and change management
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading high-performing project teams in collaborative environments
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, procurement, and commissioning processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and construction management software such as Procore; experience with Primavera P6 is preferred
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and Lean Construction principles
Education/Experience:
  • 7+ years of project management experience, preferably with a focus on mechanical systems
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering and/or equivalent experience or education
