Our client is searching for a Project Manager with Bridge Maintenance and Rehab experience.
-Plan, execute, and close out bridge repair, rehab and preservation projects for state DOT, municipal and private clients
-Oversee all phases of projects from bid through final acceptance, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor and crew management, quality control, safety compliance, and client/agency relations
-Serve as primary point of contact for DOT resident engineers, municipal officials, and inspection staff
-Manage public relations concerns related to lane closures, detours, and community impact
-Maintain professional, transparent communication to support long-term client relationships and repeat work
-Review contracts, specifications, and drawings to understand scope of work
-Develop and maintain project schedules, bridge closures, lane restrictions, and staged construction to minimize traffic disruption.
-Coordinate crews, equipment and materials
- Coordinate mobilization of crews, equipment, and materials specific to bridge specific to bridge work
(formwork, shoring, deck removal equipment, concrete pumps, containment/staging
platforms).
-Manage (MOT) maintenance-of-traffic plans in coordination with traffic control and agency requirements
-Prepare and manage project budgets, and cost forecasts
-Process change orders, RFIs, and claims related to differing site conditions common in bridge rehab
-Ensure all work complies with DOT specifications, AASHTO/AWS standards, and approved submittals
Required Skills & Experience
-5+ years of project management in heavy civil/highway construction
-Direct experience in bridge maintenance, rehab or repair projects
-Working knowledge of structural repair methods: deck overlays/replacement, joint and bearing replacement, substructure/superstructure repair, epoxy injection, shotcrete, coating and painting systems
-Familiarity with state DOT standard specifications, special provisions, and bid item
structures
-Experience managing maintenance-of-traffic plans and staged construction over active
roadways/waterways
-Proficiency with all MS products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
-Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, including fall protection, work-over-water and traffic control safety standards
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple active job sites
-Must be willing to go to project sites at active construction sites that have exposure to heights, moving traffic, water crossing and varying weather conditions
-Must be able to use PPE (hard hat/safety vest/fall protection harness/steel toes)
-Must be able to do some work outside normal business hours for night closures or accelerated schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification
- OSHA 30-Hour
- Experience with AASHTO LRFD and structural load rating concepts
- Familiarity with NBIS inspection requirements and bridge management systems
-Prior experience as a superintendent or field engineer on bridge projects prior to moving into project management
- Experience with DBE/MBE compliance reporting on publicly funded projects
