Genex Systems is looking for a Project Manager Assistant to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE) contract at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.
Responsibilities:
Assistant and consultant to staff and management for variety of specialty and complex administrative activities in support of the Engineering and Project Management Group. The assistant will perform duties associated with support of the office such as project tracking and monitoring specifically: Track actual vs. proposed cost and man-hours for program as well as develop monthly reports, track work requests to ensure a timely flow of approvals, track schedules of open tasks, develop weekly reports for distribution, assist in developing monthly reports, monitor customer evaluations and solicit customer feedback, maintain meeting minutes for program and project meetings, assist in various planning and estimating duties, provide backup duties for Program Manager Assistant. Successful candidate will be working with a small team of assistants the perform similar duties.
Prepares administrative reports involving compiling and verifying data from a variety of reference sources that may require initiative in obtaining and assimilating information.
Support the utilization of the contract's Quality Management System, including providing inputs and proposed recommendations to policies, procedures and work instructions, affecting specific functional areas which are supported by engineering and project management; may serve on specialty committees; performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required. Two (2) years of college with courses in computer science, mathematics, or related engineering courses, plus two (2) years of related experience in data reduction and analysis, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience for a total of four (4) years. Previous experience with computers is highly desirable.
Candidate must possess good oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient user of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point. Demonstrated ability to compose business letters and reports in final form. Knowledge of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques. Skill in dealing with others both in person-to-person work relationships, virtual meetings, and team environments.
Essential Functions:
Work Environment
Office environment. (90%) Test facilities and active construction site environment - loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (10%) Travel between office and various facilities is required.
Physical Requirements
Potential exposure to high noise levels, hazardous chemicals, propellants and the like. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs.

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.) (90%) including the following typical PC Software-Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Project.
