Whether building bridges, stabilizing shorelines, rehabilitating structures, or providing site engineering and construction solutions for solar, Walbec is your bridge to expertise in construction and engineering.With safety and ethics at the core of everything we do, our experienced professionals are hard at work on commercial and industrial sites throughout the Midwest. The Position:The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the development and day-to-day operations of their territory and customer base, which will include relationship-building with contractors, consultants, clients, and potential partners in any of these areas. This role will be responsible for our highest-level projects and may include managing and training other Project Engineers/Managers (PEs/PMs).Responsibilities:Be a leader on all work sites by wearing proper PPE and espousing the Walbec value of Safety by regularly participating in morning huddles and following safety protocols/practicesManages the overall project management operations in their assigned geographical territory or client baseGenerally, manages highest profile projectsBids and manages our highly complicated projects, high penalty, PWL, night work, and projects with tight timeframesComprehensive knowledge of Manufacturing, Technical Services, and Walbec Group family of companiesKnows and understands all aspects of bidding; knows competition along with analyzing and bid theoryTrusted source when Area Manager is not availableMentors, trains. and supervises less-experienced PEs and PMs as neededKnows the industry well and is involved often (WTBA, NAPA, WAPA, etc.)Participates in interviewing and evaluating new hiresInvolved in Association meetings and able to promote the asphalt industry and Walbec materials and servicesHas strong relationships with customers and can use to our advantage such as:o Changing job scheduleso Changing job phasingo Implementing more efficient methods of doing workPromoter of our industry and companyPerforms other related duties as required and assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization or combination of schooling and relevant work experienceMinimum of 8-10 years of project management experience in construction or manufacturingValid driver's license and satisfactory driving recordWorking knowledge of DOT guidelines and regulationsExperience in training and mentoring individualsPreferred Skills:Prior transportation industry and logistics experienceEstablished strong, trusting relationships to gain support and achieve resultsEffectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issuesManage multiple conflicting prioritiesBe self-directed and motivatedExcellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, and interpersonal and negotiation skillsExcellent client management and business literacy skillsAdditional Notes:This position will be required to travel. The Benefits:Competitive compensation aligned with industry standardsEmployer Paid Medical Plan with HRA contribution (eligibility requirements)Dental, Vision, and Life InsuranceFlex Spending Account (FSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Company-paid short and long-term disability coveragePaid parental leaveGenerous PTO and paid holidaysProfit sharingRobust Walbec training and professional development programOngoing career growth opportunities We are an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action employer, and it is our practice to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants.
