Project Manager Change Management

A leading organization in Philadelphia is seeking a skilled Project Manager Change Management to play a pivotal role in a transformative national fleet program that aims to redefine passenger rail travel in the U.S. This role is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced project manager to oversee moderate complexity projects or significant components of larger programs, ensuring that change control processes are rigorously followed and that all aspects of project delivery meet the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness. The Project Manager will utilize their technical expertise and experience in change management to drive project objectives, foster stakeholder collaboration, and ensure the successful execution of initiatives that will enhance fleet reliability, expand service capacity, and ultimately improve customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Change Control Management: Track potential changes within projects, thoroughly assess their impacts on budget, schedule, and interrelated projects, and ensure these are communicated effectively to both the client and project management team. This includes preparing and presenting detailed reports on change implications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a central point of contact for stakeholders, facilitating communication and ensuring that the impacts of decisions or changes are fully understood and managed within the context of the assigned projects, the broader program, and the organization as a whole.
  • Change Management Tools Maintenance: Keep all change management tools up to date, ensuring that they reflect current project status and are accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordination and Resource Management: Coordinate the efforts of internal resources and third-party vendors, ensuring that all project tasks are executed on time and within budget. This involves detailed planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines.
  • Project Scope and Objectives Definition: Collaborate with project team members, Subject Matter Experts, and Sponsors to clearly define project scope and objectives. This includes involving relevant stakeholders early in the process, gathering and documenting requirements, and ensuring that technical feasibility is rigorously assessed.
  • Resource and Funding Acquisition: Work closely with different departments within the company to secure the necessary resources, materials, and funding required for successful project execution, ensuring that all areas of the organization are aligned and adequately supported.
  • Project Schedule and Reporting: Perform continuous maintenance and updating of project schedules, including regular progress reporting to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of current project status and any potential risks or delays.
  • Dependency Management: Identify and manage dependencies between different departments, systems, vendors, and assets, ensuring that all interrelated aspects of the project are coordinated effectively to avoid conflicts or delays.
  • Relationship Building: Successfully establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external resources, as well as key project stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment that supports project success.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify and document project issues and risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor the progress of these actions to ensure that potential problems are addressed proactively.
  • Project Documentation: Develop and maintain all required project management artifacts in accordance with organizational standards and applicable regulations, ensuring that all project documentation is thorough, accurate, and up to date.

Required Skills & Work Experience:

  • Working knowledge of and experience in project management, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • A Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Skills & Work Experience:

  • Previous experience with project change management.
  • Working knowledge of railroad systems, practices, and terminology.
