The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of CNC machine projects from order receipt through acceptance at customer’s facility. The Project Manager is responsible for all communication concerning the project with the customer and all departments with the Chiron organization as well as key suppliers.
\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
\nOversees and reviews completion of projects for Chiron CNC machines to ensure compliance to customers purchase order in reference to delivery, cycle time, part quality requirements and operator training.
\n•
\nDevelops and maintains program timeline, which ensures on time delivery to the customer.
\n•
\nInforms senior management of any issues which would adversely affect the on-time and on-budget performance of the program and develop action plans that overcome timing and cost issues.
\n•
\nProvides status reports/open issues lists to the customer and senior management concerning program status on any technical, logistical, or commercial issues relating to a project.
\n•
\nCoordinates with the Assembly Department to develop a manufacturing plan, which includes timing and labor requirements to ensure availability of appropriate personnel to ensure program success.
\n•
\nCo-chairs and attends the customer start-up meeting with the Proposal Engineer and coordinates all communication with the customer throughout the project.
\n•
\nCompletes and submits written reports for all customer visits.
\n•
\nEnforces and reviews day-to–day written log on status of projects for pre-acceptance at Chiron and final acceptance at the customer’s facility.
\n•
\nCommunicates with customers, distributors, and internal staff to support the specific projects.
\n•
\nCoordinates and hosts customer visits to Chiron to review machines being programmed. Ensures specifications are correct/make adjustments to projects?
\n•
\nStrives for continuous improvement within all departments by encouraging submission of suggestions and sharing of information with employees and creation of a “teamwork” environment.
\n•
\nInvestigates and helps resolve customer satisfaction issues.
\n•
\nManages multiple projects simultaneously.
\n•
\nTravels to customer’s facilities, both national and internationally, to provide onsite customer support of an extended nature. Travel expectations is about 30- 40%.
\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
\n•
\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
\n•
\nFormal Leadership and/or Project Management Certification.
\n•
\n10 years + experience in manufacturing industry (machine tool preferred).
\n•
\n5 years of applications engineering + previous project management experience with a concentration in the automotive or high- volume parts manufacturing.
\n•
\nProficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
\n•
\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Solidworks.
\n•
\nBilingual in German and English preferred.
