Our client is an established general contracting and construction management firm specializing in commercial, institutional, infrastructure, and government construction projects. With experience delivering projects for public agencies and government entities, the company is committed to quality workmanship, safety, strong client relationships, and completing projects on time and within budget. The company is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven background in federal and public-sector construction to oversee complex projects and lead teams through all phases of project execution.
Manage federal and public-sector construction projects from preconstruction through execution, turnover, and final closeout. Oversee project budgets, schedules, cost controls, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with government agencies, public owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams. Manage contract administration, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, contract modifications, procurement, and payment applications. Ensure compliance with applicable government contract requirements, prevailing wage provisions, certified payroll, MBE/WBE participation goals, and other public-sector regulations. Lead project meetings, monitor construction progress, resolve project issues, and coordinate with field leadership on safety, quality control, and scheduling. Maintain accurate project documentation and oversee inspections, punch-list completion, owner handover, and final project closeout.
Several years of construction project management experience with a general contractor or construction management firm. Direct experience managing federal and/or public-sector construction projects is required. Candidates with exclusively private-sector experience will not meet this requirement. Knowledge of public construction contracts, government procurement, contract modifications, and project documentation requirements. Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements, certified payroll, MBE/WBE participation, and applicable government contract compliance standards. Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, change orders, and overall project execution. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Competitive base salary of up to $160,000, depending on experience. Opportunity to manage meaningful federal and public-sector construction projects. Exposure to a diverse portfolio of government, institutional, commercial, and infrastructure work. A collaborative team environment that values safety, quality, accountability, and client relationships. Opportunities for professional development and increased project leadership responsibility. The chance to contribute to projects that serve public agencies and local communities.
