Job Descriptiona small dairy operation located in Wisconsin is searching for an Assistant Herdsman. This position is responsible for assisting in monitoring the health of all animals on the premises, noting behavioral changes, providing vaccinations and other injections as needed, treating minor injuries or illnesses as they occur, and maintaining comprehensive health and production records. The Assistant Herdsman will also work closely with the veterinarian during examinations, assist with calving and hoof trimming, manage heifer feeding, and may feed adult cows when needed. Assistance with milking cows will be required only if needed.
