A rapidly growing commercial General Contractor is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their Los Angeles team and take ownership of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The company works across a diverse range of commercial markets, including office, healthcare, life science, industrial, hospitality, entertainment, retail, tenant improvement, renovation, and ground-up construction.

The Los Angeles office is continuing to grow, creating an opportunity for a Project Manager to join an established leadership team while having a direct impact on the company's continued expansion. As the business grows, they are increasingly pursuing ground-up projects and more complex commercial work, creating significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing assigned construction projects from preconstruction through completion while working closely with clients, subcontractors, architects, consultants, and internal leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules
  • Manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and project costs
  • Lead project meetings with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Coordinate closely with the Superintendent to ensure successful field execution
  • Monitor project financial performance and overall profitability
  • Identify potential project risks and develop solutions
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners
  • Participate in preconstruction and project planning
  • Coordinate project closeout and turnover
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards

Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced Commercial Project Manager with a strong understanding of the full construction lifecycle and the ability to independently manage projects while working collaboratively with the project team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience
  • Experience working for a General Contractor
  • Proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Strong understanding of construction budgets, schedules, contracts, and change orders
  • Experience managing subcontractors, architects, consultants, and owners
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with commercial, office, healthcare, life science, industrial, hospitality, entertainment, or similar projects
  • Ground-up construction experience is highly desirable
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and desire to grow with a rapidly expanding company

Job Offer

  • Base salary up to $185k (depending on experience)
  • $650/month vehicle allowance
  • Bonus earning potential around 7% - 15% of base salary
  • Fully covered healthcare for employee
