We are looking for a Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial building projects in a general contracting and construction management environment with full ownership from preconstruction through closeout. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving project execution, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client with a long-standing reputation for delivering commercial construction, design-build, and construction management projects. This position plays a key role in successfully managing multiple projects while collaborating with field teams, subcontractors, and clients to achieve exceptional results.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and procurement plans throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Lead project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
    • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals to ensure project requirements are fully understood and executed.
    • Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements, change orders, and vendor relationships to support successful project delivery.
    • Monitor project costs, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain profitability.
    • Coordinate closely with field leadership to resolve construction challenges and maintain project momentum.
    • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, building codes, safety standards, and quality expectations.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and client updates throughout each phase of construction.

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
    • Experience working for a commercial general contractor or construction management firm is required.
    • Demonstrated success leading projects from preconstruction through closeout with direct ownership of project execution.
    • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and change order management.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
    • Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Commercial construction experience is required; residential-only project management experience will not be sufficient.

    Benefits

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.

Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
