Title: Project Manager – Commercial Training Programs
Duration: 12 months contract
Location: Remote (25% travel required to Foster City, CA)
Shift: Standard Business Hours
Position Summary
• We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced corporate environment.
• The role will support commercial training initiatives with a strong focus on new hire onboarding, sales capability development, and training program execution.
• This individual will work closely with cross-functional partners to design, implement, and deliver training initiatives that support field sales performance and commercial strategy.
Responsibilities
• Support the lead training manager by managing assigned components of training initiatives (planning, execution, and follow-up) to ensure timelines, quality, and objectives are met.
• Lead and collaborate on the development and implementation of knowledge and skill-based training focused on therapeutic disease state and product knowledge for commercial field sales.
• Develop and execute training initiatives including new hire programs (Accelerate), account management skills, product knowledge training, promotional campaign training, product launches, communication skills, selling skills, phased trainings, sales meeting workshops, and ongoing learning sustainment programs.
• Collaborate with internal departments including Marketing, Commercial teams (Field Sales, National Accounts, Regional Trainers), Commercial Operations, Global L&D, Medical Information, Legal, Business Conduct, and Regulatory to develop appropriate training programs.
• Ensure training materials and workshops are current, effective, and compliant with regulatory guidelines through collaboration with Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and Medical Information teams.
• Partner with external vendors to design curricula and training programs using adult learning principles.
• Conduct needs assessments, identify participant characteristics, and gather cross-functional feedback before finalizing instructional design strategies.
• Identify capability gaps and propose training solutions to support organizational development.
• Ensure organizational readiness for training deployment by identifying stakeholders and aligning expectations in advance.
• Analyze existing technologies and their use in instructional design and training delivery.
• Partner with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to identify training needs and lead change initiatives.
• Maintain alignment with the Commercial group's strategic training plan while balancing short-term and long-term business objectives.
• Manage training budgets related to training development, POA meetings, and sales meetings.
• Manage projects from initiation to final delivery, including vendor selection, vendor management, and training delivery (live or virtual).

• Ability to lead initiatives and build alignment across stakeholders without direct authority.
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Experience managing vendors from selection through final deliverables.
• Ability to independently manage projects from initiation to completion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Teams, and PowerPoint, particularly for training and instructional content development.
Preferred Qualifications
• MS degree with 6+ years of related experience.
• 5+ years of commercial pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
• 3+ years of field sales experience.
• 1+ year of commercial training experience.
• Experience with new hire onboarding programs, particularly for sales representatives.
• Experience supporting product launches or commercial training programs.
• Experience in HIV therapeutic area is preferred.
• Sales, marketing, or training experience within a competitive biotech or pharmaceutical marketplace.
