We are seeking a qualified project manager with a minimum of ten years of experience on large scale, type projects. At least 3 years of the experience should be at a large to mid-size airport. This role is responsible for project management and design oversight for a variety of architectural/building design and construction projects across the airport campus anticipated to exceed $1 billion in contract value over the next ten years. Major responsibilities of this position include management of consultants and contractors, design oversight, procurement support, construction monitoring and oversight, coordination of tenants, business partners and other RDU departments, as well as a range of other responsibilities needed to ensure the successful outcome of projects.
Responsibilities
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze and interpret technical data, reports, specifications, and engineering and architectural plans for facilities at a commercial air carrier airport
Prepare, evaluate, monitor, and maintain complex operating budgets and capital program budgets
Plan, organize and direct work on complex projects involving building infrastructure and systems; ability to promote consensus and negotiate favorable outcomes
Research current and future trends to establish programs for existing and new buildings
Create and meet schedules and deadlines of the work
Understand and carry out oral and written directions
Accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files
Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
Qualifications
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Project planning and budgeting
Project management best practices
Rules, regulations, codes, and guidelines as they relate to building construction and renovations, including fire, electric, energy, utilities, disabilities, egress, elevators, escalators, stairs, and associated permits
Airport projects and the airport environment at a medium-hub commercial service airport
Principles and practice of public sector management and administration of airport policies and procedures
Industry standard building specifications and codes
Design, construction, and/or maintenance of basic building components and finishes, electrical and lighting systems, HVAC systems, potable water and sanitary sewage, including gravity and forced main systems, fire alarm and fire protection systems, utilities and communication systems
English grammar, spelling, punctuation
Principles and practices of basic bookkeeping
Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment
