Summary of Job Description:

The Project Manager (Construction) is responsible for contributing to the achievement of the company's new store opening plan. This position manages the construction of new stores in all phases of project development, including construction, architecture, and engineering coordination required for the complete development of assigned company restaurants. The Project Manager has the responsibility to complete all construction projects within the required turnover date and within budget. Regularly updates key stakeholders of changes by ensuring all systems and reports reflect the most current and up-to-date information.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for achieving annual store opening plan and delivering quality stores in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for construction quality management (CQM) to ensure that every aspect of construction aligns with or exceeds Panda standards and industry best practices. Establishes and monitors quality objectives, applying quality controls, and strategic quality assurance practices.
  • Supports REM / Sr. REM in their research for store sites, including due diligence, feasibility studies, floor plans, and site plans.
  • Works with other functions to ensure store construction meets all codes, AHJ requirements, landlord requirements, and Panda standards. Ensures completion of required approval processes, including governmental agencies, developers/Landlords and other entities required to complete the approval process.
  • Oversees the construction bidding, awarding and contract issuance and strategically sources a pool of qualified General Contractors in their respective territory.
  • Assesses construction activities at the job sites; maintains project schedule, tracks regulatory approval processes, and oversees project costs. Ensures compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes. Creates a strong safety focus in the design of the facility and the execution of the field construction.
  • Responsible for regular reporting on project process to all stakeholders and responsible for ensuring construction documents are accurate and reflect current requirements to enable quality bids.
  • Works with Operations to ensure new stores are successfully turned over to Operations as scheduled. Keeps key stakeholders updated of scope/schedule/cost changes.

Your background & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preference major in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience, preferably in the retail/hospitality environment
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required training (including but not limited to store training, Recognizing & Preventing Sexual Harassment training, Conscious inclusion training, and Landmark Forum, etc.)
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.

Must Reside in the following area:

  • Texas

Work Environment:

  • Office conditions, ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends; travel to new stores and stores under construction as well as Operations Regional meetings: 50-60%; ability to climb on roof approximately 40 feet high and lift 50 lbs.

Pay Range: M2: $112,500 - $158,000 / Annual

  • Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
