    Delta Air Lines is seeking a Project Manager to lead project coordination, cross-functional alignment, and structured execution of initiatives within the Flight Operations Optimization modeling space.

    This role ensures the right conversations happen at the right time, decisions are documented, owners are clearly assigned, and deliverables move forward with discipline and clarity.

    The Project Manager creates the structure, visibility, and communication cadence that enable the Product Owner, IT teams, and business partners to operate effectively.

    This position will be based in the Atlanta General Offices and report to the Manager - Business Insights AI/ML. Furthermore, this role will be expected to work closely with Flight Operations, Crew Resources, Operations Decision Science, IT and AI/ML workstreams across the organization. Responsibilities:

    • Managing multiple projects from feasibility to fruition.
    • Bring role clarity to project teams within interdependent work environments
    • Partner with the business and Product Owners on change management activities associated with product adoption.
    • Influence prioritization of projects across constrained resources
    • Ensuring the team produces continual and on-time delivery of value.
    • Manage customer expectations for project deliverables, produce key stakeholder communications, and follow the defined system of project governance.
    • Works directly with product owners for clear requirement definition, scope and schedule.
    • Manage risks, issues and develop remediation plans.
    • Coordinates all project status reports for executive level distribution, FOPs leadership, and strategic progress.
    • Managing team delivery commitments and helping to remove enterprise and escalated impediments.
    • Manage several concurrent projects of varying priority and complexity, across multiple teams and, potentially, multiple business divisions.
    • Provides overall guidance for teams to adhere to Agile principles and practices. Arrange, facilitate and schedule meetings, demos and decision-making processes to ensure that the proper adaptation process is in use. This includes backlog management, estimating and sizing effort, release planning, sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospective.
    • Coordinates project close out including hypercare and support model set up post-product launch
    • Works across stakeholders and teams to continuously improve. Drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics to identify areas of opportunity.
    • Maintain an exceptional level of customer focus centered on integrity and communication.
    • Foster close cooperation across all team members; encourage cross-training and team support.
    • Act as a peer guide for other team members on the interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
    • Proficiency with Smartsheets, MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or senior leadership.
    • A high level of discretion and responsibility when it comes to handling sensitive information.

    What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

    • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency

    • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

    What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

    • Strong presentation skills, including drafting and delivering key communications
    • In depth knowledge of the Delta pilot contract and Crew Resources processes
    • Deep understanding of the current IT and technology landscape
    • Business case development and project launch capabilities
    • Data querying and analysis (e.g. SQL, Python)
