Job Title: Project Management Specialist - Aerospace ManufacturingJob Description
This role leads and coordinates projects that support manufacturing operations, facility upgrades, and equipment-related initiatives within a high-volume aerospace manufacturing environment. The Project Management Specialist acts as a key liaison between manufacturing, facilities, maintenance, engineering, and external vendors to ensure successful equipment installations, relocations, facility modifications, and continuous improvement projects. The position offers broad visibility, strong stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to drive projects that directly impact production efficiency and overall site performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate projects related to capital equipment installations, equipment moves, and machine relocations within a high-volume aerospace manufacturing facility.
- Plan and manage facility modification projects, including layout changes, utility coordination, and facility readiness activities to support new or relocated equipment.
- Develop, maintain, and track project schedules using tools such as Gantt charts to ensure all milestones and deadlines are met.
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and support capital equipment planning to ensure projects are delivered within financial targets.
- Serve as the primary liaison between manufacturing operations, facilities teams, maintenance personnel, engineering, and external vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to schedule and oversee equipment installations, commissioning activities, and related facility work.
- Support the development and review of facility layouts to optimize manufacturing flow, equipment placement, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with maintenance and facilities teams to plan maintenance windows, equipment downtime, and resource allocation for project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Communicate project status, timelines, and risks to stakeholders and manufacturing leadership through regular updates and reports.
- Ensure projects align with manufacturing operations requirements, including maintenance planning and spare parts management considerations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on facility modernization, operational efficiency, and production performance.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align project goals, clarify requirements, and resolve issues impacting schedule or scope.
- Maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, status reports, and technical or facilities-related records.
- Contribute to a fast-paced project management environment by managing multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities effectively.
Essential Skills
- Proven project management and project coordination experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting aerospace, manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment environments.
- Hands-on experience with equipment move and build projects, including planning and execution.
- Experience with facility layout planning to support manufacturing operations and equipment placement.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations, including production workflows and operational constraints.
- Knowledge of maintenance planning and spare parts management in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience working with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams on technical projects.
- Familiarity with machine installation requirements, including utilities, infrastructure, and facility readiness activities.
- Ability to develop and manage project schedules, including the use of Gantt charts or similar scheduling tools.
- Experience with capital equipment projects and budget management for equipment and facility initiatives.
- Background in facilities and maintenance coordination, particularly within an industrial or aerospace setting.
- Formal project management training or certification such as PMO, PMP, or a related project management credential.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with manufacturing leadership, facilities personnel, maintenance teams, engineers, and external vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
The role is primarily onsite within an active aerospace manufacturing facility, combining office-based project management responsibilities with frequent presence on the manufacturing floor. You will regularly interact with manufacturing leadership, facilities personnel, maintenance teams, engineers, and external vendors. The environment involves close exposure to equipment installation projects, facility modifications, machine relocations, and operational improvement initiatives. Work is fast-paced, with multiple concurrent projects and deadlines requiring strong prioritization and coordination. The position offers significant cross-functional collaboration and frequent stakeholder communication, providing broad visibility across the organization. Paid time off and holidays are available during the contract period, and there is potential for the role to convert to a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
