About the Role
Location: This position will be located in Durham, NC and will be an onsite role.Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role: please only apply if this location is accessible for you.Key Responsibilities:Lead capital projects from concept through close‑out, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standardsServe as primary client contact, managing expectations and maintaining strong cross‑functional partnershipsManage project scope, budget, and schedule changes with clear impact analysis and documented approvalsPartner with engineering firms to develop detailed, biddable designs, specifications, and construction documentsLead construction execution, coordinating contractors and vendors for facilities, utilities, and equipment installationDevelop and manage internal and external resource plans to support project execution demandsPrepare funding requests, business cases, and financial justifications for new and expanded projectsIdentify project risks proactively and implement effective mitigation and contingency plansReport project performance, progress, and issues to site leadership and senior stakeholdersDrive operational excellence by capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement initiativesEssential Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experienceSeven years of experience delivering capital projects in regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environmentsDemonstrated experience managing FDA‑regulated and GMP‑compliant projects within highly regulated facilitiesStrong knowledge of FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practice systemsExperience with capital improvement projects, including process and production layout developmentProven capability managing construction projects for facility renovations and brownfield environmentsAbility to read and interpret P&IDs and multi‑discipline construction drawingsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong technical writing capabilitiesNovartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:The salary for this position is expected to range between $108,500 and $201,500 annuallyThe final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits.
