Project Manager Engineering

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Drive the successful delivery of CPKCs rail infrastructure projects by leading end-to-end project and construction management across track, bridge, structure, and related engineering initiatives.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage execution of assigned projects within scope, schedule, and budget. Oversee project design and permitting activities. Direct and supervise engineering consultants. Prepare cost estimates, reports, memos, and correspondence. Develop conceptual design alternatives for business case reviews. Coordinate work with internal teams, external partners, and customers. Provide construction management for assigned projects. Represent CPKC in meetings with Public Agencies for project coordination. Review 3rd party external projects to ensure compliance with CPKC standards. Provide safety leadership, on-call emergency support, and travel to project sites (30-40%).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Minimum 5 years of experience with progressive responsibility in design, construction oversight, and project management. Familiar with American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association standards (AREMA), Safety and Health regulations, Environmental guidelines, Natural Resource permitting, General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR), US public funding guidelines, and requirements. Working knowledge of SAP, Windows 10, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, AutoCad, Civil 3D. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
