--- Project Description ---
Manage priority projects for the Division of Retirement Services within
the Office of the New York State Comptroller. Priority projects may
include recurring business calendar events, legislative mandates, or
operational improvements which require comprehensive project
management.
--- Day-to-Day Tasks ---
1. Managing multiple, concurrent application development projects,
change requests and operational initiatives.
2. Guiding teams comprised of cross-functional, vendor and/or other
state agency staff as necessary for completion of project tasks.
3. Developing comprehensive project plans, managing project tasks,
communicating project updates, and providing required status reports.
4. Mitigating and escalating issues, including Executive level escalation.
5. Managing project scope, deliverables, and customer expectations.
6. Functioning as a meeting facilitator to clarify business and technical
requirements which may cross project team boundaries.
7. Producing project documentation and deliverables using Microsoft
Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
--- Required Qualifications ---
• 84 months of experience collecting project requirements for review and
distribution to various stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• 84 months of experience in managing application development (SDLC) or
other information technology projects.
• 84 months of experience developing and maintaining project artifacts (i.e.,
scope, charter, budget, schedule, RAID log, work breakdown structure, and
communication plan) using Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint.
• 84 months of experience in meeting facilitation and written communication in
support of knowledge transfer.
• 24 months of experience managing complex projects which use PeopleSoft
applications.
• 24 months of experience managing projects in state government
• Bachelor's Degree
• Project Management Professional Certification
