Under the general supervision of the President, the Project Manager is responsible for the overall financial and operational success of assigned projects and customers. This role owns project-level profit and loss (P&L), supports estimating and pricing activities, manages new project launches, and ensures clear communication of customer and product requirements to internal teams. The Project Manager serves as the primary link between customers and internal departments to deliver high-quality products on time and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
Own profit and loss performance for assigned customers and projects, ensuring sustained profitability and long-term growth
Manage pricing strategies to maximize margins while accurately costing products using internal and external suppliers
Support Sales during the estimating, quoting, and ongoing pricing processes
Coordinate and lead new project launches, serving as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and external customers
Partner closely with Sales, Production, Quality, Engineering, and Accounting to ensure accurate quoting, proper routings, defined quality standards, and efficient production
Manage new projects using established project management processes and best practices
Clearly define part specifications for manufacturing through bills of materials, routings, blueprints, and quality requirements
Maintain ownership of all project documentation, including blueprints, sales master files, pricing history, and quality specifications
Coordinate direct reports and cross-functional resources to support company and project goals
Ensure customer expectations are met while delivering products on time, within scope, and at target margins
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred
2–5 years of experience in project management, manufacturing, sales support, or related fields
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Knowledge
Solid understanding of manufacturing principles, sales and marketing, and project management practices
Ability to read and interpret component drawings and tolerance schemes
General knowledge of tubular steel manufacturing processes is a plus
Skills
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficient in computer applications with strong spreadsheet and numerical analysis skills
CAD experience is a plus
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
