Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Job Description

This role leads and oversees a wide range of interior and commercial construction projects from inception through completion, with a strong focus on supporting government-sector clients. The Construction Project Manager plans, organizes, and supervises all construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards and strict adherence to health and safety regulations. This position plays a key role in coordinating resources, managing stakeholders, and driving continuous client satisfaction and long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish, with a focus on interior and commercial construction for government-sector clients.
  • Organize and oversee all construction procedures and workflows to ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, meet all requirements, and do not exceed approved budgets.
  • Determine needed resources from project start to finish, including labor, materials, and subcontractors, with careful attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases and milestones to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Evaluate project progress regularly and prepare detailed status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, accurate, and stored properly in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards on site and promptly report and address any issues or violations.
  • Identify, track, manage, and resolve project issues, risks, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Chair and lead progress meetings with clients, providing clear updates and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors to support project needs.
  • Monitor construction quality and ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to align project execution with design and technical requirements.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships through proactive communication and service.
  • Support career development initiatives by participating in training and applying best practices in project management and construction.

Essential Skills

  • 5-10+ years of experience as a construction project manager, with at least 10+ years preferred for high-level responsibilities.
  • Degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited university (required in qualifications, preferred in skill details).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Extensive experience in construction and construction management, particularly in commercial and interior construction.
  • Well-versed in all construction procedures and methods across the full project lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with construction quality standards and the ability to ensure compliance on all projects.
  • Eligibility for U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Ability to identify, track, manage, and resolve project issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in planning and scheduling construction operations and intermediate project phases.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing project documentation, contracts, and reports.
  • Ability to prepare subcontracts and purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead client progress meetings and maintain client relationships.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and the ability to enforce them on site.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited university.
  • Experience supporting government-sector construction projects, particularly interior construction.
  • Experience in commercial construction and interior design-related projects.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles as they relate to construction management.

Work Environment

This position is fully onsite and follows a structured weekly schedule: Monday through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., and Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. The role operates in a construction-focused environment supporting government-sector interior and commercial projects, where collaboration with field teams, subcontractors, and clients is frequent. The work involves regular presence on construction sites, adherence to health and safety standards, and coordination with various project stakeholders. The organization offers a small-business setting with a strong emphasis on upward mobility, career growth, and training to support advancement into other roles. Project completion bonuses are available for Project Managers, reinforcing a performance-driven and supportive culture.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $72.11/hr.
