Build Your Project Management Career at a Fast-Growing Nonprofit Consulting Firm

\n

Nonprofit Security Advisors (NPSA) is a rapidly growing national consulting firm serving churches, Christian schools, and nonprofit organizations across the United States. We help clients win Nonprofit Security Grant funding — federal and state — and then guide them through the post-award compliance and implementation process. We're a small, close-knit team, and we're looking for someone who wants to own their work, not just complete it — someone who's excited to learn, grow, and eventually run a meaningful piece of our project management department.

\n

\n

Your Mission

\n

This is a project manager role: you'll be trained directly by the Director of Project Management to run the compliance and implementation process for our grant-awarded clients, from the moment they're awarded funding through grant closeout. In your first several months, you'll work closely with the Director, learning our processes and building judgment on real client work. As you grow into the role, you'll take ownership of most of the department's caseload—managing scope, timelines, and client relationships day to day—while the Director continues to lead the department, carry a smaller caseload directly, and remain your resource for the highest-stakes decisions and outlier situations.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

• Keep client documents and communications organized and properly filed in a shared digital folder structure, so records are accurate, complete, and easy to retrieve throughout both phases.

\n

Compliance Phase

\n

• Own a caseload of grant-awarded clients through the compliance phase, from award notification through clearance to commit funds, following NPSA's established compliance playbooks and milestones.

\n

• Serve as the client's primary point of contact with State Administering Agencies (SAAs) — coordinating required trainings, asking clarifying questions, and getting clients set up on all necessary state portals.

\n

• Guide clients through Environmental and Historical Preservation (EHP) clearance requirements and confirm that each project aligns with state and federal guidelines.

\n

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records and documentation in Salesforce CRM, and use Asana to track and report on each client's tasks, progress, and milestones.

\n

Implementation Phase

\n

• Own project implementation for your caseload — helping clients draft scope-of-work documents and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and guiding them through a competitive procurement process appropriate to purchase size (formal bidding at $10,000+, streamlined micro-purchase procedures below that threshold).

\n

• Lead procurement review and vendor selection support, and prepare vendor selection memoranda.

\n

• Manage client reimbursement request submissions and track quarterly, biannual, and annual reporting and certification deadlines.

\n

• Guide clients through audit-preparedness packages and grant closeout.

\n

• Own day-to-day scope and timeline management for your caseload, escalating major scope changes, budget issues, and outlier situations to the Director of Project Management.

\n

Growth & Training

\n

• Spend your first several months learning NPSA's compliance and implementation processes directly from the Director of Project Management, working hands-on with real client cases.

\n

• Expect to find your groove within three to four months, and reach meaningful autonomy on your core caseload within four to six months.

\n

• Grow into ownership of the majority of the department's caseload as you develop judgment and experience, with the Director remaining available for the highest-stakes calls.

\n

\n

What We're Looking For

\n

We're not looking for a specific pedigree or a checklist of past job titles. We're looking for someone who is hungry, coachable, and ready to take on real responsibility — whether that's someone early in their career, considering a career change, or simply excited by the challenge and opportunity this role offers. You should be comfortable asking questions early on and gaining independence quickly as you learn our compliance and implementation processes. Requirements vary from state to state, so this role also calls for the aptitude to navigate complex guidelines — knowing where to look for an answer, and when to seek clarity from the state administering agency rather than guess. We're a small, fast-growing team, and we need someone who brings genuine initiative and follow-through. We prefer a candidate who has experience working in a local church or Christian school, either as a staff member or volunteer.

\n

\n

Benefits

\n

• Full-time W-2 employment

\n

• 20 paid PTO days plus 6 paid holidays

\n

• Onsite and hybrid work preferred; full remote considered for the right candidate

\n

• Company-provided computer and equipment

\n

• Professional development opportunities

\n

• As a growing company, we are not yet able to offer medical, dental, or retirement benefits — our compensation is designed with that in mind. Our goal is to add these benefits as the company continues to grow.
