Our client is an engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services company supporting complex industrial and energy-sector projects. They work closely with utility and infrastructure clients, providing project execution, administrative oversight, and specialized management support across the full project lifecycle. Our client frequently partners with external agencies to supplement staffing needs for large-scale, time-bound projects.

 

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, commissioning, and start-up of large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects to ensure successful delivery on schedule and within budget. This role provides overall project leadership, coordinates multidisciplinary teams, and oversees project execution strategies across complex industrial, power, energy, and renewable projects. The ideal candidate brings extensive project management experience and a proven track record of delivering major capital projects in highly regulated industries.

 

Job Description

  • Lead the overall planning, execution, commissioning, and start-up of EPC projects.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the project execution plan to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate and direct engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project communications and maintain effective relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes and resolve project issues to support successful project delivery.
  • Oversee project reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking.

 

Skills Required

  • 10–20 years of project management experience in EPC environments.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience serving in a Project Director role on at least:
    • One refining project valued at more than $300 million.
    • One project valued at more than $300 million in chemicals, petrochemicals, power, solar, renewables, or related industries.
  • Experience working across at least two industries, including: Oil & Gas
  • Power, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Solar, Renewable Energy, Renewable Diesel or Gas Technologies
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of management, employees, clients, and contractors.
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Flexible and willing to travel as required.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced degree or professional project management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
