Scope of Work
1. Project Description: Provide temporary personnel for Fire, Accessibility & Code Compliance
(FACC) division for MTA Construction and Development - Delivery Services Office (MTA
C&D - DSO)
2. Professional/Technical Title: Associate Project Manager II ( "APM”)
3. Duration of Service Required: one year
4. Normal Work Week: Monday through Friday
5. No. of Hours Per Week: 40 hours; limited overtime hours may be requested.
6. Hours of Work: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (includes unpaid lunch)
Technical 80% and 20% Administrative:
Office: 60% and field: 40%
Access to right of way required: Yes
7. Work Location(s):
New York, NY. as well as in other locations, including, but not limited to;
o 525 N. Broadway, White Plains, NY;
o 420 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY; or
o Jamaica Control Center-Long Island Railroad Yard, Jamaica, NY).
8. MTA C&D Title: APM II
9. Reports to: Appropriate MTA Personnel.
10. Qualification Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape
architecture, project management, business administration or public administration and
2 years' experience; or
• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six (6) years'
experience.
11. Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in code enforcement, accessible design, plan review of fire department operations, energy conservation, or site inspections having served in a supervisory capacity.
12. Licensing Requirements: None
13. Special Skills/Training Requirements:
• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour certification
must be completed required prior to performing work on or near wayside areas.
• Demonstrated knowledge of building materials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Successful completion of track safety training for NYC Transit, Metro- North Railroad, or
Long Island Railroad, as applicable.
• If offered to the consultant, must pass the NYS Code Enforcement Official Certification class.
14. Description of Work:
• Under supervision, review capital projects throughout all phases of the project life cycle (pre-design through closeout phases) for compliance with NYS Fire and Building Codes and the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act ( "ADA”).
• Review project drawings and narratives for the drafting of Master Plans, Scope of
Work, and multiple design phases to ensure compliance with applicable Fire, Building,
and ADA regulations, and provide written comments as needed.
• Participate in design review meetings to verify that ADA requirements are fully
integrated into project designs.
• As directed, perform construction acceptance and/or maintenance inspections for
Fire, Code, and ADA compliance at stations and facilities undergoing rehabilitation,
ensuring adherence to State Fire and Building Codes, ADA Accessibility
Guidelines, and contract documents.
Other Work Requirements:
• Personal safety boots that meet all applicable requirements must be provided at own expense.
Salary commensurate with scope of work job experience
Proper footwear required to perform tasks in a safe manner.
Perform other reasonably related duties as required.
