The Mississippi Division of Medicaid responsibly provides access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low-income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged and disabled.

About the Position

This is an X16 position. The Project Manager II for the Provider Data Management Team within the Office of Provider Solutions at the Division of Medicaid plays an important role in supporting and coordinating initiatives related to provider data governance, system integration, and operational efficiency. This position assists in the management and execution of projects designed to improve the accuracy, consistency, and alignment of provider data across enrollment, credentialing, managed care, and MMIS operations. The role involves coordinating project activities, collaborating with internal divisions and external partners, and supporting the implementation of system enhancements and provider data initiatives. The Project Manager II assists with resolving operational and data-related issues, conducting data reconciliation activities, and supporting the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards related to provider data management and system operations to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements. This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and project coordination skills, along with the ability to work within complex operational and stakeholder environments. Effective communication and collaboration are essential to support successful project execution, improve provider data integrity, and contribute to the Division's mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services to Medicaid beneficiaries.

To be successful as a Project Manager II for the Provider Data Management Team, the candidate must possess a solid understanding of Medicaid operations, provider data management processes, and the relationships between provider enrollment, credentialing, managed care, and MMIS systems. Success in this role requires strong project coordination and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments and support complex initiatives while maintaining alignment with organizational priorities and timelines. The candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assist in identifying and resolving data and operational issues impacting provider information and system processes. Attention to detail is essential to support data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and the integrity of provider information across systems. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to assist with drafting, interpreting, and implementing policies and procedures related to provider data management and operational processes in accordance with CMS requirements and state administrative code. Effective communication and collaboration skills are equally important, as the role requires interaction with internal teams, vendors, and managed care organizations. The candidate must be able to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing operational demands, and contribute to the successful completion of projects and initiatives that improve provider data quality, operational efficiency, and overall program performance.
