Senior Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager (Hybrid onsite in Plano Texas)

 

Overview / Summary

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager to facilitate Agile practices and manage IT projects from initiation through delivery. This role combines Scrum leadership with project management responsibilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives, driving process improvements, and supporting delivery across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • PMP and CSM certifications (or equivalent) required
  • Advanced Scrum or PMP certifications (e.g., PMI-ACP, Advanced Certified ScrumMaster) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project management
  • Minimum 3 years in a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager role
  • Proven experience with Agile, PMP, and RUP methodologies
  • Experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure or software development projects preferred
  • Experience working in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment preferred
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and IT systems
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as JIRA, Trello, or similar
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices

 Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Sprint Reviews
  • Act as a servant leader to cross-functional Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and best practices
  • Remove impediments and promote high-performing team dynamics and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to define and prioritize product backlogs
  • Guide teams in tracking metrics to measure progress
  • Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects using PMP principles and best practices
  • Develop project plans including scope, schedule, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and budgets
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with business objectives and IT strategy
  • Manage project teams and facilitate communication among developers, testers, and stakeholders
  • Report on project status, risks, and key metrics to stakeholders and leadership
  • Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer
  • Apply Agile, PMP, and RUP methodologies based on project complexity and requirements
  • Provide coaching and training on Agile and hybrid methodologies
  • Drive process improvements and ensure effective use of tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for project issues and resolve blockers
  • Manage change control processes to maintain quality and timelines
  • Support applications across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure stable and secure systems
  • Support cloud migration initiatives in partnership with IT leadership
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, PCI-DSS, and other regulatory standards
  • Work with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning
  • Ensure QA processes meet standards such as ISO, GDPR, and HIPAA
  • Develop and maintain test documentation and ensure traceability
  • Implement defect tracking and reporting processes
