Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager III with nuclear industry experience to lead and manage complex projects for Southern Company Nuclear. This senior-level role will provide strategic direction, project leadership, stakeholder management, and mentorship to multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Define and manage project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement project risk-management strategies.
- Monitor project progress, schedule, budget, risks, and performance.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and provide executive-level status reports.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure projects align with organizational objectives.
- Apply advanced project management methodologies and continuous-improvement practices.
- Lead and mentor project teams while promoting project-management best practices.
- Identify and resolve project issues, risks, and resource constraints.
Required Qualifications
- 10–15 years of project management experience, including experience managing complex projects.
- Nuclear industry/project experience required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related field.
- PMP certification required.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and project controls.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong executive communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in complex and highly regulated project environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting nuclear power generation projects.
- Advanced project management certifications or specialized nuclear project experience.
- Experience managing projects involving engineering, construction, outages, plant modifications, or capital improvements.
