CTG’s long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking an experienced Project Manager III to lead complex technical programs within an advanced technology and manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a strategic project leader with strong technical acumen, cross-functional leadership experience, and the ability to manage programs from concept through delivery.

Job Title: Project Manager III
Location: Fairport, NY
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Fairport, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Travel: Up to 10% domestic travel to sites based on project need. Advanced notice will be provided. Travel duration may be up to one week at a time.
Education: Associate’s Degree minimum required; Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Optical, Mechanical, or related field) preferred

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical and cross-functional teams to execute strategic programs and initiatives
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, risks, and resource planning
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to define scope and deliver successful outcomes
  • Drive program execution from initiation through implementation using structured project management methodologies
  • Monitor changes in scope, requirements, timelines, and business objectives while managing associated impacts
  • Present program updates, risks, and strategic recommendations to leadership teams
  • Support product development, testing, evaluation, and manufacturing implementation activities
  • Ensure process discipline, milestone achievement, and effective communication across all organizational levels

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of technical project or program management experience
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional team management skills
  • Experience managing technical programs within manufacturing, engineering, or technology environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Project
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project risks effectively
  • Must be ITAR compliant — candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting new product development and manufacturing transfer activities
  • Familiarity with SAP or manufacturing systems
  • Advanced degree in optics or related field
  • Experience working with technical research or innovation organizations
