As a Project Manager in the Chemical/Manufacturing industry, you will be responsible for the overall development and execution of client projects. This includes ensuring project profitability, maintaining safety standards, and achieving client satisfaction. You will manage resources, project scope, schedules, budgets, and contractual requirements. Your leadership will be pivotal in instilling confidence in the client and organizing the project team effectively. You will also act as the primary liaison for the project client and any external consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate completion of defined work scope for a project across various departments and business locations.
  • Develop, review, and approve all project management documents, including scope development, project costs, schedules, and communications.
  • Assist in the preparation of project execution strategy and review progress of drawings and specifications before permit issuance and construction.
  • Monitor changes in scope and schedule to secure necessary change authorizations.
  • Supervise the preparation of project proposals, specifications, scope, and contracts.
  • Monitor project costs and quality to ensure profitability and technical performance, implementing innovative actions to correct variances.
  • Exercise innovative cost-efficiency approaches in project design to reduce construction costs and increase productivity.
  • Anticipate, recognize, and identify key project challenges, directing problem-solving objectives and priorities.
  • Maintain specific knowledge of project planning and scheduling functions.
  • Support project, business, and relationship development activities.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and project management.
  • 10+ years of project management experience in consulting organizations within the Chemical or Manufacturing industries.
  • Understanding and experience with basic engineering and construction models, including A/E, AEPCM, Design Build, and CM.
  • Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineering License and/or PMP Certification preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of contract administration, liability, and safety issues.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Navisworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and organize for project efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment

The position is based in an office location in downtown Greenville with paid parking. The role may require standing or sitting for prolonged periods, and occasional exposure to adverse environmental conditions at client sites. Noise levels may vary, and safety protections provided by the client or company are mandatory. Minimal travel is expected, up to two trips per quarter.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $72.12/hr.
