LONG TERM PROJECT
SCOPE OF WORK
1. Project Description: The candidate will be supporting management in with
the capital projects under Infrastructure MTA Bus Business Unit.
2. Professional/Technical Title: Project Manager Intern
3. Duration of Service Required: 52 Weeks
4. Normal Work Week: Monday - Friday
5. No of Paid Hours per Week: 40 hours
6. Hours of Work: 7:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.
• 50% Technical function - 50% Administrative function
• 80% Field or 20% Office locations
• Right-of-Way access is required
7. (1/2 Hour unpaid lunch)
8. Work Location: Brooklyn, NY 11207
9. Reports To: Unit Lead/Director – MTA C and D
10. Qualifications Requirements: 1. Four years of satisfactory full-time
experience performing construction inspection or construction management
work on construction projects; or 2. Four years of satisfactory full-time
experience in building construction as a journey person in one or more of
the skilled building construction trades; or 3. A valid license as a
professional engineer or registered architect issued by a board of
examining engineers or architects duly established and qualified pursuant
to the laws of any state or territory of the United States; 4. A
baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in
architecture; architectural technology; landscape architecture;
construction; construction technology or construction management; civil
(including structural, bridge design or sanitary, electrical, or
mechanical) engineering or engineering technology; or 5. A combination of
"1 ", "2 ", and "4 " above sufficient to equal a total of four years of
education and experience. Education leading to a baccalaureate degree in
the areas described in "4 " above will be credited on the basis of 30
semester credits for each year of acceptable experience.
11. Experience Requirements: Familiarity with construction methods. Knowledge
of software applications related to capital construction management.
12. Licensing Requirements: A valid NYS Driver's License
13. Special Skills/Training Requirements: Knowledge of PC applications,
written and verbal skills, Good skills with MS Office.
14. Description of Work: Under direct supervision, assist Project Management
in the oversight of capital project. Assists Engineers and Architects in
the collection and treatment of data. Prepares reports that help
management monitor the progress of capital projects. Assists in managing
the design process, coordinate responses from design for formal
Construction management response. Also assist Project Manager with
various paper work in the field.
15. Job Requirements
• May be required to periodically travel between MTA depots.
• Responds to emergencies and report to project sites when necessary.
• The consultant shall provide safety shoes, at own expense
which must meet NYCT guidelines and specifications when
participating in any field activities within the depot.
• The consultant shall provide certification of the 30-hour OSHA
training from an authorized provider accepted by NYCT and submit a
course completion certificate prior to being hired.
