Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – IT/OT Infrastructure to support a large-scale, long-term mining infrastructure program in Salt Lake City. The Project Manager will provide program-level coordination and delivery oversight across a portfolio of capital, IT, OT, network and infrastructure initiatives supporting underground mining operations.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring an experienced Project Manager who can operate effectively in a complex industrial environment, coordinate internal teams and subcontractors, manage competing priorities, and establish strong relationships with local stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of projects in transition, navigating organizational change and resistance, and working closely with capital project and owner teams to integrate IT/OT requirements into broader project schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of multiple IT/OT, network, infrastructure and capital-related projects.
- Provide program-level coordination across multiple concurrent project workstreams.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, resources and deliverables.
- Coordinate IT activities with broader capital project schedules, funding and site priorities.
- Manage internal technical resources, external vendors, subcontractors and other delivery partners.
- Oversee infrastructure initiatives involving networking, switches, wireless connectivity and related industrial IT/OT technologies.
- Support projects involving operational technology environments such as SCADA, PLC and industrial control systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Client Project.
- Support project financial management, procurement and project tracking through SAP.
- Establish project priorities and organize smaller initiatives into manageable delivery batches.
- Apply appropriate delivery methodologies, including traditional PMBOK-based project management and Agile approaches where appropriate.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status, risks, issues and decisions to leadership.
- Participate in transition and knowledge-transfer activities, including structured overlap with incumbent personnel.
- Build effective relationships with site leadership, technical teams and operational stakeholders.
- Provide assertive project leadership in environments involving organizational change and competing priorities.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable site, safety and operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience managing IT infrastructure, network, industrial technology or related technical projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects or complex project portfolios.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies including enterprise/industrial networking, network switches and wireless infrastructure.
- Experience working with or delivering projects involving IT/OT integration.
- PMP certification or equivalent recognized project management certification strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of PMBOK project management principles.
- Proficiency with Client Project for project planning and scheduling.
- Experience with SAP in a project, financial, procurement or operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing vendors, subcontractors and internal resources.
- Strong project financial, scheduling, risk and dependency management capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide leadership in a complex, changing environment.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in Salt Lake City.
Preferred Qualifications
- Underground (UG) MSHA certification preferred, particularly for candidates supporting or working within underground mining operations.
- Previous experience within mining, metals, utilities, energy, manufacturing, construction or another asset-intensive industrial environment.
- Direct mining industry experience, particularly supporting underground operations.
- Experience delivering projects involving SCADA, PLCs, industrial control systems or industrial networks.
- Experience coordinating IT components within major capital projects.
- Experience with organizational transitions, knowledge transfer and change management.
- Relevant industrial, infrastructure, networking or technology certifications.
- Experience managing long-term, multi-year infrastructure programs.
