Pharma / Life Sciences / Biotech Experience:
Minimum 7+ years in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or life sciences consulting.
Prior consulting background is highly prized because of the rapid pace, stakeholder management, and structured thinking it brings.
Education:
Master s degree or higher is required/mandatory (all directors on her team hold a graduate degree or higher; PhD is welcome but not required).
Time Zone Alignment:
Eastern Time Zone (EST) preference, as days can kick off early (around 7:00 AM EST) and most of the VP's leadership team is aligned to the Gaithersburg, MD hub or Europe.
AI Tool Acumen:
Must have baseline knowledge of AI tools and know how to practically leverage AI to improve efficiency and workflows.

Oncology / Disease Area Familiarity:
Oncology (OBU) experience is ideal, though transferable therapeutic experience (e.g., rare diseases, biopharma) is acceptable as long as they understand the commercial/medical affairs landscape.
Carbon Tracking Familiarity:
Tracking team travel carbon footprints against allocated budgets (she noted this is formula/calculator-based and easy to teach).
Meeting Facilitation:
Ability to organize and facilitate tumor-level forums and leadership meetings.
Cannot be just an "overseer." Must be willing to roll up their sleeves and build slide decks, analyze spreadsheets, and execute directly.
Must be able to operate with minimal supervision and drive projects independently.
Executive-Level Slide & Storyline Building:
Must be able to take complex, ambiguous scientific concepts and research data from the VP and leadership team and distill them into high-quality, executive-ready presentations (iterating back and forth with leaders).

We are seeking a Global Portfolio Director, OBU Medical Affairs to join our team.
Role Overview
As the Global Portfolio Director, you will leverage your expertise in project management, people management and stakeholder engagement to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within OBU Medical s Evidence Generation to Publications (EvGen2Pubs) organization. Your leadership abilities in change management, budget oversight, and problem-solving will be critical to the effective portfolio management of the EvGen2Pubs organization.
This position reports directly to the Head of Medical Innovation, Strategy & Operations (MIST) and partners closely with the VP, EvGen2Pubs. You will be working in a matrix manner to balance the goals of the two organizations under Medical Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership with the EvGen2Pubs VP and Senior Leadership Team (LT)
You will:
Collaborate with the VP, EvGen2Pubs, to develop and achieve scorecard goals, value metrics, budget and carbon targets, and leadership presentations for the organization. You will monitor progress and proactively mitigate risks to ensure successful delivery.
Facilitate leadership team (LT) meetings by providing strategic input and managing all meeting agendas and follow-up action items.
Coordinate 1 2 key workstreams to drive initiatives focused on enhancing the effectiveness of GMA and the EvGen2Pubs organization.
Oversee the strategic planning and execution of deliverables assigned to the EvGen2Pubs leadership team on an ongoing basis.
Plan, monitor, and communicate the status of the EvGen2Pubs functional budget, including phasing, prioritization, and integration with long-range plans.
Partner with the MESO leadership team to promote a culture that welcomes challenge, new ideas, and proactive ways of working while upholding *** s core values.

Required Experience
Graduate-level degree in a science or business-related field.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
At least 5 years of management experience leading teams in a matrix environment across multiple geographies and time zones.
Proven self-starter with strong leadership credentials and the ability to clarify strategic direction, drive commitment, balance short- and long-term priorities, resolve differences constructively, and reinforce clear expectations and scope.
Advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical product development and commercialization.
Experience working effectively in multicultural, matrixed organizations, with a proven ability to manage stakeholders in different time zones.
Demonstrated track record of preparing and delivering presentations to executive leadership.
Experience operating within a quality- and compliance-driven environment, adhering to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Formal project management certification (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP, PRINCE2).
In-depth understanding of the medical, scientific, or commercial landscape in Oncology.
Experience in consulting roles.
