Healthcare IT Project Manager - EPMO / Portfolio Governance

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Healthcare IT Project Manager to support enterprise technology intake, governance, prioritization, and project delivery within a hospital or health system environment.
This is a highly visible role that works closely with executive leadership, clinical stakeholders, business teams, and IT. The position will serve as a central point of contact for new technology-related project requests, helping evaluate business value, cost, risk, strategic alignment, and resource impact before initiatives move forward.
The role will also directly manage selected strategic technology projects from planning through implementation, operational readiness, and close.
Responsibilities
Manage the intake and evaluation of new technology-related project requests
Partner with executives, clinicians, business stakeholders, and IT teams to assess opportunities
Ensure project requests include clear business needs, value propositions, cost estimates, risks, impacts, and expected benefits
Facilitate project scoring, prioritization, and governance committee review
Maintain visibility across the demand lifecycle using ServiceNow
Develop business cases and support ROI analysis
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and benefits
Lead business and technical requirements gathering
Manage RAID logs and project escalations
Coordinate testing, acceptance, change management, and operational readiness
Develop transition plans, SOPs, downtime procedures, and communication plans
Prepare and present project updates and governance materials to executive leadership
Ensure projects remain aligned with enterprise strategy and business objectives
Qualifications
10+ years of healthcare IT project management experience
Strong project management experience within a hospital or health system IT environment
Experience managing strategic, business-critical technology projects from concept through implementation and close
Experience with EPMO, portfolio governance, technology demand intake, or project prioritization
Strong business process documentation and redesign experience
Experience developing business cases, ROI analysis, and project financials
Understanding of CapEx versus OpEx
Strong requirements gathering and validation experience
Experience managing RAID logs, risks, dependencies, and escalations
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills
Ability to build relationships and gain buy-in across technical, business, and clinical teams
ServiceNow experience preferred
PMP preferred; extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of certification
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate brings more than traditional project execution experience. This person should be comfortable operating at the front end of the technology portfolio, evaluating and prioritizing initiatives before funding and resources are committed, while also being able to take ownership of projects and drive them through successful delivery.
Deep healthcare IT experience within a hospital or health system environment is required.

Pay Details: $82.00 to $87.00 per hour
