Position Overview
Lead mechanical project delivery for construction and semiconductor-facility projects, managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety for HVAC, piping, and related mechanical systems. Coordinate design, procurement, contractors, and commissioning to ensure projects meet technical requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical project delivery from pre-construction through closeout, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and oversee mechanical design reviews, value engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, process piping, and related systems.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, and trade partners; develop scopes of work, evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance and compliance.
- Develop and maintain project schedules (MS Project/Primavera), cost controls, forecasts, and change management processes; report regularly to stakeholders on progress and risks.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry codes and standards (ASME, SMACNA, NFPA, local building codes) and semiconductor cleanroom requirements.
- Drive quality assurance/quality control and commissioning activities, including punch list management, system balance, pressure tests, leak tests, and functional performance testing.
- Implement and enforce site safety programs and environmental requirements; conduct regular safety meetings and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, permit requirements, and design coordination, including BIM/3D model coordination.
- Mentor and lead project engineers and field staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree or technical certifications preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive mechanical project management experience in construction, industrial facilities, or semiconductor/cleanroom projects; experience managing HVAC and piping scopes required.
- Proven experience with semiconductor facility requirements, cleanroom standards, process piping, and complex MEP systems highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME, SMACNA, NFPA) and experience with commissioning and system balancing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules and budgets using MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent; experience with cost control and change management.
- Familiarity with construction documents, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360) for coordination.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with a track record of leading cross-discipline teams and contractors.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PE (Mechanical), LEED, or HVAC-related certifications are a plus.
