Description

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) is seeking a qualified Project Manager to join its Project Management Office (PMO) located in the agency's Oklahoma City office. Within the PMO, the Project Manager will work with the team to leverage resources, drive efficiencies, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet overall objectives. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, completion, and closing of OSDH projects under the guidance and direction of the PMO, ensuring consistency with the agency's strategy, mission, commitments, and goals. The Project Manager will serve as a primary contact for direction of agency resources and activities as they relate to the life cycle of assigned projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, completion, and closing of OSDH projects ensuring consistency with the agency's strategy, mission, commitments, and goals. The Project Manager will manage vendor relationships and deliverables within project scope, removing blockers and escalating issues as needed. Responsibilities: " Manage medium to extra-large complexity projects through full project life cycle activities utilizing appropriate methodologies and tools, planning and communication, and acquire, develop, and manage the project team. " Perform all standard project management deliverables including scope and objectives, change management, risk mitigation, budgeting, stakeholder communication, project and vendor engagement, subject matter expert utilization, implementation, and project closure. " Develop and manage project status reports for communicating with project stakeholders and reporting key metrics for the PMO dashboard. " Implement change management practices in accordance with agency and PMO guidance. " Forecast, manage, and acquire (as necessary) resources needed to achieve project objectives. " Ensure project activities and deliverables adhere to federal, state, or agency documented guidelines. " Facilitate and manage contract processes from initiation to closure. " Routinely perform gap analysis, root cause analysis, and offer recommendations for successful project outcomes. " Demonstrate dynamic ability to lead group facilitation activities for the agency especially in areas requiring interaction of an independent party.

Requirements

Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project management methodologies. " Strong familiarity with and/or the ability to use MS Project. " Understanding and experience with the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide and Standards. " Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff. " Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and multi-tasking capabilities. " Well-organized and detail oriented.

Duration

12 months with the option to renew

Location & Schedule

This position will perform 40 hours of work per week typically accrued anytime between the agency's standard working hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday. Overtime will not be approved. The position will be expected to perform work onsite for a minimum of 3 days per work week, with an expectation to work onsite additional days depending on project requirements for a given week.
