INTAKE CALL:
Project will lead the renovation and rebuild of a QC laboratory.
Must have Project Management experience supporting construction or capital projects.
cGMP experience is highly preferred with an understanding of regulated laboratory environments.
Should understand QC lab operations, laboratory equipment, and facility assets.
Responsible for standard PM activities including project schedules, stakeholder communication, communication plans, risk management, and cross-functional coordination.
Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing labs is preferred.

Contingent Worker: Project Manager
POSITION PROFILE: (Basic Purpose of Position)
The Project Manager will be responsible for implementing of Avantors project engineering vision and executing it within the companys operations facilities. Leading cross-functional teams in the development of Avantor facilities to meet safety, environmental, quality business, customer, regulatory and technical requirements. Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine and document detailed requirements. Develop facility and equipment layouts to best accommodate Avantor processes. Prepare project estimates, support business case development, work with internal and external engineers and firms to drive design details, costs and schedule. Manage engineering firm contracts for specific expertise and experience. Coordinate project construction, commissioning and training.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
  • Drive Capex and improvement projects to align with company goals and vision.
  • Leads stage gate projects with internal and external resources. Investigate options and gathers information independently.
  • Efficient use of project management tools. Develops project opportunities. Coach less experienced engineers to use appropriate tools.
  • Understands core processes areas, unit operations and control technology.
  • Work with appropriate internal and external resources to drive project execution.
  • Combine historical cost information and contractor/vendor quotes to develop project estimates. Develop project schedules.
  • Contribute to process safety analysis in equipment design and project scope. Ensures projects complies with company policies.
  • Develop and communicate recommended options to leadership.
  • Lead project commissioning and start up activities.
  • Assist project cost control.
  • Manage project schedule and budget.
  • Ability to supervise contractors and subcontractors in multiple disciplines (engineering, civil, mechanical, electrical and controls).
  • Train multidisciplinary teams on new equipment, processes, and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
  • BS/MS in a business or technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in a construction management or engineering, process technology engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, or operations environment.
  • Strong skills in project management, problem solving and value creation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and MS Project.
  • Must Experience in architectural projects and execution
