Position Summary
Struction Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Planning and Development (M&O) to oversee and coordinate all phases of assigned construction and modernization projects, from project inception through close-out. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple complex projects concurrently while ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, oversee, and coordinate all facets of pre-construction, project development, bid/award, construction, and project close-out phases of assigned projects.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure projects remain aligned with approved project scope and objectives.
- Plan, organize, and prepare project status reports for upper management.
- Coordinate with public agencies, utility providers, and governmental entities to satisfy federal, state, and local requirements.
- Monitor project budgets on a monthly basis and ensure financial reporting accurately reflects project status and progress.
- Resolve complex planning, design, and construction-related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
- Review project status and overall progress to ensure projects remain within approved scope and project definitions.
- Assist project teams with contract administration, procurement activities, bid processes, and contract planning.
- Implement project and program policies, procedures, and approved process improvements.
- Evaluate industry developments, emerging strategies, and best practices that may impact program objectives and outcomes.
- Collaborate with technical personnel to develop cost estimates for new construction, renovation, and alteration projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of full-time paid professional experience managing public, educational, or commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating complex activities throughout the entire project lifecycle, including project initiation, planning, design, development, construction, and close-out.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with educational modernization projects is highly preferred.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in:
- Architecture
- Engineering
- Construction Management
- Related field
OR
- Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential may substitute for the education requirement.
OR
- Candidates who do not meet the education requirement may substitute additional qualifying experience on a year-for-year basis and demonstrate extensive proficiency in the duties outlined above.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with public-sector clients and educational facilities.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, construction processes, and contract administration.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary project teams.
