JOB TITLE: Project Manager
LOCATION: Remote - must be willing to work across timezones
DURATION: 6 months
RATE RANGE: $60-$70/hr
POSITION SUMMARY:
Lead business and functional projects from definition through handoff, creating clarity across stakeholders, plans, decisions, risks, dependencies, and outcomes. This role is designed for an experienced business-oriented Project Manager who can quickly establish governance, translate business objectives into executable plans, and drive cross-functional delivery. Technical fluency is valuable, but deep technical project management is not the primary focus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
" Project definition and planning. Partner with sponsors and business leaders to clarify objectives, scope, success measures, deliverables, assumptions, constraints, resources, milestones, and decision rights.
" Delivery leadership. Build and maintain integrated project plans; coordinate work across functional teams; monitor progress; and drive timely execution through completion and operational handoff.
" Stakeholder alignment. Establish productive relationships with sponsors, functional leaders, subject matter experts, vendors, and other partners. Facilitate clear decisions, commitments, and accountability.
" Governance and reporting. Create an appropriate operating rhythm, including status reporting, working sessions, steering updates, decision logs, and action tracking. Escalate clearly and at the right time.
" Risk and dependency management. Identify, assess, document, and actively manage risks, issues, assumptions, constraints, and cross-project dependencies.
" Change control. Evaluate proposed changes to scope, schedule, cost, resources, and expected outcomes; document impacts and guide stakeholders through approval and prioritization decisions.
" Business process focus. Map current and future-state processes, surface gaps, coordinate requirements, and support practical improvements that are sustainable after project close.
" Adoption and transition. Coordinate readiness, communications, training, documentation, stakeholder feedback, and handoff activities with the accountable business owners.
" Continuous improvement. Capture lessons learned and recommend fit-for-purpose improvements to project practices, workflows, templates, and governance.

" Approved project charter or equivalent project definition, including scope, outcomes, governance, and success measures.
" Integrated project plan with milestones, owners, dependencies, and critical decisions.
" Current status reporting and maintained logs for risks, issues, actions, decisions, and changes.
" Stakeholder and governance cadence with documented outcomes and follow-up.
" Business requirements and process documentation at the level appropriate to the engagement.
" Readiness, transition, and handoff materials that support ownership after the engagement.
" Project closeout summary, including outcomes, open items, and lessons learned.

" Outcome-oriented. The contractor is engaged to deliver defined project outcomes and artifacts, with priorities and milestones agreed with the designated sponsor.
" Collaborative. The role works across internal teams and may coordinate third parties, while respecting established decision rights and accountable business ownership.
" Adaptable. The contractor should apply an appropriate level of project rigor based on risk, complexity, pace, and stakeholder needs.
" Confidential and compliant. The contractor must follow applicable confidentiality, information security, data handling, access, and conduct requirements communicated for the engagement.

" Clear, shared understanding of scope, outcomes, ownership, milestones, and decision paths.
" Timely visibility into project health, risks, decisions, dependencies, and required leadership actions.
" Deliverables meet agreed acceptance criteria and are transitioned to accountable business owners.
" Stakeholders are aligned, informed, and able to make decisions with the information provided.
" Project documentation is current, usable, and proportionate to project complexity
QUALIFICATIONS:
" Demonstrated experience independently leading complex business or functional projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
" Strong command of project management fundamentals, including planning, governance, scope, schedule, cost awareness, risks, issues, dependencies, change control, and status reporting.
" Ability to translate broad business objectives into clear workstreams, deliverables, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
" Executive-ready written and verbal communication, with the judgment to tailor detail for sponsors, leaders, and project teams.
" Proven facilitation, negotiation, and influence skills in matrixed environments where authority may be indirect.
" Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to synthesize incomplete or conflicting information and drive decisions.
" Experience with business process analysis, operational improvement, organizational change, or business transformation initiatives.
" Ability to manage multiple priorities, work with limited direction, and bring structure to ambiguous situations.
" Proficiency with standard project planning, collaboration, reporting, presentation, and documentation tools.
" Bachelor s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
" Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent credential.
" Experience supporting globally distributed teams or multi-region initiatives.
" Experience working within a formal PMO, portfolio governance model, or strategic planning environment.
" Technical aptitude sufficient to partner effectively with IT, data, systems, security, and vendor teams when a business project has technical dependencies.
" Working knowledge of portfolio or strategic portfolio management tools.
" Experience with process mapping, requirements elicitation, change management, or operational readiness.

Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate or annual salary only, unless otherwise stated.
