Project Manager - Power Delivery (Substation Design)

Our Power Delivery team is growing, and we're looking for a Project Manager to join our Austin office. You'll manage substation design projects ranging from 12-kV to 500-kV, including brownfield sites, switching stations, and renewable interconnections.

This is a leadership-focused position for someone with a strong engineering background, a proactive mindset, and the ability to guide complex projects from concept through closeout. You'll work directly with clients, subcontractors, internal teams, and regulatory agencies to keep projects safe, on schedule, and profitable.

What You'll Do

• Manage the full lifecycle of substation projects — planning, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout
• Develop and oversee project budgets, schedules, scopes, and deliverables
• Serve as the primary client contact for project updates, strategic planning, and issue resolution
• Lead site mobilization and demobilization planning, supporting construction managers through implementation
• Prepare RFPs, scopes of work, and bid packages; support vendor selection and contract negotiation
• Oversee project documentation, permitting, quality control, safety compliance, and field audits
• Coordinate across project disciplines, including engineering, procurement, construction, and controls
• Report on project performance, cost tracking, procurement issues, and risks
• Maintain accurate invoicing, change management documentation, and closeout materials
• Support ongoing client relationships and help identify future business opportunities

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• 7+ years of experience in high-voltage substation projects (physical and P&C)
• 3+ years of direct project management experience
• PE license preferred
• PMP certification a plus
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working with public, utility, and government clients on large-scale infrastructure projects
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company Motor Vehicle Safety Policy requirements
