Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Program Manager, Renewable Energy Programs to join our team!

What You Will Do

The Project Manager, Renewable Energy Programs is responsible and accountable for the management and coordination of multiple related projects to achieve strategic business and organizational objectives. Responsible for building credibility, establishing rapport and maintaining communication with stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to the organization.

As a senior-level practitioner at the forefront of advancing the Department's and TTC's strategic goals and objectives, the Project Manager leads integrated TTC and consultant project teams. These teams are responsible for the coordination, implementation and management of multi-year, multi-discipline capital projects, and programs from inception, planning, design, procurement and production through safety certification, commissioning, and project close-out. Projects will include the electrification of both TTC fleet and facilities. This includes the electrification of the conventional bus, wheel-trans bus and non-revenue fleets as well as the decarbonization of facilities and implementation of renewable energy; all of which are large scale in nature and/or highly complex.

Other duties would include:

  • Establish overall scope, schedule and budget for various projects. Prioritize projects and frameworks to meet strategic business and governance goals. Identify external risks and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Ensure project schedules are developed and implemented so that deliverables are provided in a timely and cost effective manner to all stakeholders.
  • Track, monitor and communicate performance against project plan, requirements, quality measures, milestones and KPIs. Review status reports from project teams and address issues with program or portfolio impacts as appropriate.
  • Ensure timely reporting of financial and performance results including schedule, safety, human resources, and other management issues to TTC and government officials. Review status reports from project teams and address relevant issues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in recruiting, retaining and training of resources to ensure individual and team targets are achieved as well as to contribute to the ongoing success of the TTC Corporate Plan. Delegate, and guide work.
  • Create, maintain and constantly attempt to improve project development and implementation processes. Implement procedures to ensure successful execution of projects.
  • Define and manage stakeholder expectations, problem resolution, and implement engagement reviews. Work with business and functional areas to create integrated plans.
  • Acts as the TTC''s representative to exercise and delegate authority in managing the work and controlling the delivery of the project in accordance with scope, budget, schedule, and quality assurance requirements.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Progressive experience in the areas of general project management of transit vehicles and/or large multi-discipline capital projects.
  • Must possess Project Management Professional (PMP), or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, or a similar certification.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (PEO), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Executive Master of Business Administration (eMBA) is considered an asset.
  • Comprehensive experience and knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience applying best practices, procedures and principles of project, program and portfolio management methodology and governance
  • Knowledge of asset management planning and principles, engineering and configuration change management, quality assurance and control standards, life cycle management, costing, and knowledge of data collection, validation, analysis and uses
  • Must be knowledgeable of pertinent Acts and Regulations (i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior management/executive level on projects and programs
  • Experience establishing, building and maintaining collaborative relationships with various stakeholders for the purpose of meeting the corporate/program objectives
  • Familiarity with computers and computer-based techniques and applications related to the work
  • Extended hours may be required to meet project, program and portfolio objectives and deadlines. May be required to work or respond to emergency calls outside of normal working hours
