We are seeking a Project Manager - Security/Cloud Transformation to assist our Fortune 100 client onsite in their west Houston are office. Extension beyond 1-year is possible.

Schedule: Mon-Thurs; Friday 1/2 day

Job Description:
The Project Manager will support the Security & Compliance department with multiple projects as it relates to their corporate Cloud Transformation initiative including implementing and securing cloud environments, overseeing security architecture, managing project plans and resources, and coordinating with the other teams (i.e., Applications, Big Data, Infrastructure, Business Solutions).

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, reporting, and overseeing the delivery of software and technology projects while following the established Client IT project management methodology. The Project Manager will support these job functions:

Project Planning & Execution
  • Lead technical projects from initiation through implementation, including RFP development, vendor selection, proof of concept, requirements gathering, design, development/configuration, testing, integration, data conversion, user acceptance, go-live, and project close.
  • Manage projects across diverse technology domains such as enterprise applications, infrastructure upgrades, data platforms, digital transformation initiatives, and IT support operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee the utilization of shared resources across multiple projects, ensuring effective allocation and prioritization requirements are met
    Develop and maintain detailed project plans, secure and organize resources, coordinate project activities, monitor budgets, assess dependencies, and manage project issues.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust resources and priorities accordingly.
  • Assess project dependencies, risks, budget constraints, and resource conflicts to ensure successful implementation, including contingency planning.
  • Support continuous improvement of project management methodologies and tools.
IT Leadership & Technical Alignment with the Business
  • Ensure all team members are aligned on the business requirements, design documents, and any other technical requirements. This can include current and future process documentation.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of both business and technical issues to manage resources and deliverables effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure solutions meet operational and strategic needs.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Build and lead high-performing teams by leveraging individual strengths, technology, and organizational processes.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across IT, operations, vendors, and compliance to ensure seamless execution.
  • Foster strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, exercising flexibility, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment across departments and leadership levels.
Analysis & Communication
  • Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to leadership.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and proactive identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze and report project status, synthesizing complex information for decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with staff, management, and executives.
Adaptability & Decision-Making
  • Manage shifting priorities in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Make well-informed decisions under pressure, balancing strategic goals with operational realities.
Must haves:
  • 5+ years of project management experience in the IT security & compliance field
  • 5+ additional years of IT professional experience
  • Implementing and securing cloud environments\
  • Overseeing security architecture

  • Domain knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including network security, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), data protection, cloud architecture, risk management, threat modeling, and defense-in-depth.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) within cloud platforms
  • Understanding of security risk frameworks and industry security standards relevant to cloud computing
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Adherence to security policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations
Nice to haves:
  • Project management and information security certifications (e.g. PMP, CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, etc.) are preferred.
Interview Process:
  • 30-minute phone screen or MS Teams video
  • 1 hour on-site, panel of PMO, IT management and possibly business (if applicable).
  • Self-relocate would depend on the timeframe of the relocation. Preference given to local candidates. Client is 100% in the office.
